Former North Bay Battalion head coach and general manager Stan Butler, who had been coaching the Erie Otters, has been relieved from his position, according to a release.
No other details have been provided at this time.
Butler had been separated from the Otters players and assistant coach from Jan. 17-19, due to an internal review of team policy, according to a Thursday’s announcement.
Previously, Butler had been the coach and general manager of the then Brampton, now North Bay, Battalion for 21 years until he was relieved of those positions midway through the 2019-20 season with the team sitting dead last in the OHL.
Butler took over as the Erie coach late in 2022-23 campaign.
