Lorraine Kelly has issued a stern warning to Strictly contestant Wynne Evans after he was forced to apologise for remarks he made towards a co-star during the live tour. On Monday, January 27, Lorraine spoke about the inappropriate remark made by Evans, 53, allegedly towards It Takes Two host Janette Manrara.

Looking at the camera, the morning show presenter bluntly told Evans: “Do better, mate”. She continued to condemn the incident and said it was “really not on.

“The former opera singer has been in the headlines, though, after being overheard making a crude sexual remark towards It Takes Two presenter Janette during a photocall. I shan’t say what he said, suffice to say, it’s really not on.”

At the time, Evans issued an apology for the incident, saying: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise”. A spokesperson for the Strictly Live Tour and BBC Studios stated: “We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour.”

They added: “We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints.” On Tuesday night, Evans announced his departure from the live tour to “focus on his wellbeing”.

“I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”

Evans and his professional partner Katya Jones finished eighth in the 22nd series of Strictly Come Dancing. During the show Evans had to apologise after viewers spotted Jones moving his hand from around her waist and refuse to high-five him during an episode of Strictly Come Dancing. The pair insisted it was “a running joke”.
