Emilia Fox, star of Silent Witness, has opened up about her biggest fear – the concern that she won’t have enough time to learn everything she wants.
As the lead actress in the BBC forensic pathology drama for over two decades, Fox finds her packed schedule doesn’t allow her the time she craves for personal growth and exploration.
In an intimate interview with Women’s Weekly magazine, she confided: “I’d like some work adventures, and also to make a vegetable garden and create more cooking, and listen to more things, and read and learn more.”
She further expressed her unease, saying: “I think that’s the bit I feel the most – it’s like there’s never going to be enough time to learn all I want. And I don’t know how to do it.”
With the 28th series of Silent Witness drawing to a close next month, Fox shared that while she had prior interest in crime literature, it was the medical science aspect of the show that truly captivated her. “When I started doing Silent Witness, I already had an interest in the crime genre and loved crime literature,” she explained.
“Actually getting to play a part that was in that world was thrilling. I had no idea how fascinated I would be in the medical scientific side of it.”
Emilia is mother to her 14 year old daughter Rose, from her relationship with former partner Jeremy Gilley, and now lives with television producer Jonathan Stadlen, reports Wales Online.
Amidst speculations about their relationship status, she revealed that despite Jonathan’s frequent marriage proposals, she consistently turns him down.
The pair opted for ‘very ordinary wedding rings’ last year, which they wore as a symbol of their affection. Speaking to Women’s Weekly, she clarified the situation regarding the rings: “The rings got seen by the press and some people thought we’d gone off on some sort of secret wedding. We hadn’t.”
Emilia also shared her joy at being with Jonathan, describing it as “amazing” but acknowledged that they both “work hard” to maintain their relationship.
