With the chilly weather continuing, Brits are still making good use of their winter coats. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly update, Very has some sale items that might just fit the bill.
As we approach the end of January, the Light Brown Longline Borg Coat from its own V by Very range is currently nearly half price. Originally priced at £80, it’s now on offer for £44 and is available in a range of sizes (from 10 to 18) at the time of writing.
With a saving of £36 off the original price, this coat is made from a soft and cosy borg fabric that will keep you warm as temperatures stay below 10C. According to the website, the machine-washable coat should be around calf length.
It features a double-breasted design and lapel collar, and comes with two practical side pockets. If brown isn’t your colour, there’s also a black version available, although the discount isn’t as substantial (reduced from £80 to £56), reports the Mirror.
Online reviews for the cosy coat have been largely positive. Many praised the product as “lovely, cosy and soft”.

However, not all feedback was positive. A buyer cautioned: “Lovely coat, very warm and snuggly but oversized. I’d suggest ordering in a size smaller than you normally would.”
Someone else didn’t appreciate the oversized look, commenting: “Loved the colour and was super soft and warm but way too big. Made me look like a fairground teddy bear!”
Another added: “Was super happy when I took it from the packaging but was disappointed when trying it on. I’m a size 8 but this coat swamped me. The arms are huge. I do have shorter than average arms but it was still too long in the arm. If you’re tall and slim you may get away with this coat but if not don’t bother. Shame really as it’s lovely and warm/feels good, and is a lovely colour.”
