A brand new micropub has opened on Church Road in St George from the same team behind the Wooden Walls micropub in Staple Hill.
The Pickled Parrot officially opened its doors last Wednesday (January 22) and is said to have room for just 30 people inside, making it one of the smallest pubs in the city. The small bar, with just a few tables, serves three regularly changing cask ales, as well as several keg beers, cider and wine.
The team behind it runs The Wooden Walls micropub on Broad Street in Staple Hill, which holds the title of being South Gloucestershire‘s ‘first micropub’ according to its official Facebook page. Opening seven years ago, it is dog friendly and has garnered quite the following of loyal customers, so much so that the team decided to look out for a second venue.
Outside, The Pickled Parrot features a tropical themed sign, which was painted by local artist Conrico Steez, who shared a photo of the artwork and said: “Had the pleasure of painting this tropically inspired fascia sign for the Pickled Parrot in St George. This was a fun job in my local community and a lovely way to brighten up the streets a bit.”
The Pickled Parrot will be open Wednesday to Saturday, 4-10pm.
