Alexandre Bleau, 38, agreed to sign up for the “certified therapy” within 48 hours of release from the Montreal detention centre where he was detained over the weekend. He is required to show proof that he is undergoing the therapy at his next court date.
Bleau was working at a station in Pierrefonds last week when he was arrested by Laval police. Over the course of two days, a total of 11 charges were filed against him, including 10 alleging he secretly recorded images of more than a dozen women in Laval and in Montreal without their knowledge.
For example, on Friday he was charged with recording images of four women between July 1, 2023 and Jan. 23, 2025 in Montreal and Laval in a place where they had reason to assume their privacy would be protected. He was also charged with doing the same to women who are not identified in one charge. A sixth charge filed on Friday alleges he did the same to a woman in Laval between Oct. 9, 2021 and Nov. 30, 2024.
He is also charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to traffic.
He was suspended without pay from the Montreal fire department on Thursday following his arrest.
According to Noovo Info, one of the women named in the charges said she was renting an apartment from Bleau and was informed by Laval police that he allegedly installed a camera in her bathroom to record images of her. In an interview with Noovo Info, the same woman said she was informed that one of her friends was also recorded.
On Monday, Bleau agreed to follow a rarely used condition in order to secure his release. He agreed not to return to the address listed as his place of residence on the three charge sheets filed against him as well as the address next to it and all apartments connected to both addresses. On Google street view, the two addresses appear to be two duplexes that are connected and could contain as many as three apartments each.
Instead of returning there, Bleau agreed to live with his parents in Lévis, a city on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, opposite Quebec City. Bleau’s mother was present at the Laval courthouse and she agreed to post a $1,000 bond on top of a $5,000 deposit Bleau was willing to make personally.
He is also not allowed to be on the premises of any Montreal fire station. Some of the charges Bleau faces allegedly involve women who were reportedly recorded at a fire station.
The case returns to court in March.
