BBC presenter and designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has admitted he went “too far” during his appearance on upcoming Netflix series, Celebrity Bear Hunt.
The 59-year-old took part in the tough competition show set in the Costa Rican jungle, hosted by Holly Willoughby and featuring Bear Grylls.
The show sees a group of famous faces battling the elements in the jungle and taking on some terrifying tasks as Grylls “hunts” them.
Other celebrities taking part include Shirley Ballas, Spice Girl Mel B, Ted Lasso actor Kola Bokinni, model Leomie Anderson, presenter Steph McGovern, The Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas, tennis player Boris Becker, rugby star Danny Cipriani, TV chef Big Zuu, The Saturdays singer Una Healy, Kate Moss’s sister and model Lottie Moss and TV interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.
Speaking ahead of the show’s launch next month, Llewelyn-Bowen talked about some of the mistakes he made.
When asked about his camouflage, he responded: “I admit I might have gone a bit too far.”
“We were supposed to be in camouflage. But I think I looked more like a showgirl: there’s something very Folies Bergère about my camo,” he continued to Radio Times.
“But as I pointed out to Holly when she said I might have gone a bit over the top, ‘Darling, the jungle is over the top,'” he concluded.
Touching on the subject of how tough it had been to compete with sports stars such as Danny Cipriani, the Changing Rooms presenter replied: “Well, this is meant to be the point. We were supposed to be divvying up challenges based on our skill sets.”
“I was flying a flag for the elderly contingent alongside Shirley and Boris,” he explained.

He went on to add that he and Ballas had been “strategic” about deploying the resources they had.
Ballas also opened up on the experience recently, with the Strictly Come Dancing star labelling the show one of the “scariest things” she has done.
Ballas shared a trailer on her Instagram earlier this month, writing: “One of the scariest things I’ve ever done… out 5th February @netflixuk.”
The new series has been dubbed the ultimate survival challenge, but there seems to be a fair amount of personal drama thrown in too.
The group appear to be sharing a living space in the middle of the jungle, and the trailer suggests tensions flare between the celebs at some points.
Grylls, 50 teased: “I have done many wild things in my life but I have never hunted celebrities. The celebrities won’t come out of this the same.”

Willoughby added: “I don’t think they knew what they were signing up for.”
Some of the grueling tasks include the celebrities attempting to cross a rope bridge with missing slats which spans across a huge gorge.
