On Saturday night, ITV’s The Masked Singer revealed Teeth as Mel Giedroyc, leaving fans to speculate about the remaining seven disguised celebs.
Panellist Davina McCall suspects Pufferfish might be TV favourite Cat Deeley. During Monday’s This Morning, Ben Shephard grilled co-host Cat, teasing: “Hold on, Cat Deeley, as Pufferfish?!”
To which she playfully responded: “I couldn’t possibly confirm or deny.” Despite originally guessing an American celebrity, Ben considered that Cat had lived in the US, prompting her to say: “I think the person is American.”
Cat shared a family anecdote, mentioning: “Both of my boys were absolutely convinced that it was me! We got like an episode of The Traitors going on in my house.”
Meanwhile, Ben noted hints pointing toward Cat, like her being a fan of Teddy Swims and having long legs, similar to Pufferfish, reports the Mirror.
Cat joked about her pufferfish imitation skills but insisted: “No, no, no, it really isn’t. It’s not me, but I don’t know who it is though.”
Undeterred, Ben remained skeptical, replying: “No idea? I’m still convinced it’s you.” Fans too have taken to social media after the weekend’s performance to weigh in with their guesses.
One person asked: “Could Pufferfish be Kate Hudson?” Someone else wrote: “What if Pufferfish is Anne Hathaway? All the fashion clues and the guy wearing devil horns – Devil wears Prada anyone? Anne can also sing so.”
Another viewer tweeted: “I originally thought pufferfish was Katy Perry but after this evening, it definitely isn’t. Now I’m thinking possibly Perrie Edwards.” While one fan tweeted: “Pufferfish is Katy Perry.”
Yet, audiences will remain in the dark about whether their predictions are right as Pufferfish, along with other characters such as Dressed Crab, Kingfisher, Bush, Snail, Bear and Wolf continue to mystify fans.
The episode on Saturday concluded Teeth’s mystery as Mel Giedroyc was unveiled, leaving the panel dumbfounded.
Reflecting on the experience, Mel expressed: “I’ll take Su Pollard! It’s so nice to see you guys.I love these teeth so much! I was very pleased with Alex Scott. Such a fun show, it’s impossible not to have fun on this show!”
