Are you in the market for a tablet but reluctant to shell out hundreds of pounds in one go? We’ve scoured the web for a bargain that won’t leave your wallet feeling light and have found one that comes in at £3.50 per month – that’s roughly 11p per day.
The deal is for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 LTE, which launched in 2023 as budget-friendly tablet. It boasts an 8.7″ screen, split-screen multi-tasking and a robust chip to cater to all your TV streaming or work productivity needs.
But now, Sky has made the device even more accessible. By reducing its monthly cost to £3.50, the Sky plan now includes an £84 saving spread across the full 48-month plan.
Despite retailing at £219 at the Samsung store – even with a competing £40 off sale – Sky is only charging customers £168 for the device. That’s £51 less than Samsung’s current sale price or £91 cheaper compared to its usual upfront cost at the Galaxy retailer.

If you are happy to pay upfront, Amazon is offering it for £99, but keep in mind Sky also lets members upgrade to a new device after 36 months at no extra cost, reports the Mirror. However, Sky customers will need to select a data plan to accompany it – a minor drawback to this otherwise attractive tablet deal.
The cheapest available is the 3GB data plan, which is down from £10 to £6 per month on a minimum 12-month contract. This makes the total Sky plan £9.50 a month, but remember, you’re not obliged to keep the data plan for the entire 48-month contract.
Why the Galaxy Tab A9?
In the midst of Sky’s array of tempting deals, the Galaxy Tab A9 stands out for being the most wallet-friendly option per month. Comparatively, it’s positioned among other choices like the latest 11″ Apple iPad Air (2024) for £17 a month, or Samsung’s premium Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra which comes at £30.
The Tab A9 is praised for being a solid, everyday-use tablet that doesn’t compromise on quality despite its affordability. On its release, Samsung touted the device as ideal for ‘everyday entertainment and productivity in a portable package’, a claim echoed by user feedback.
One satisfied customer said: “Really a great and super nice tablet. AI functions work well and the camera works particularly well for a tablet.”
Another said: “Beautiful screen that reaches to the edges. Razor-sharp image and yet very quiet, reads super fine. A great gift with my phone, even nicer than an iPad.”
Another shopper shared how they thought the ‘size of the tablet was good and handy’ however, the image quality wasn’t good enough for them. As they said: “The brightness is difficult to fix.”
For those interested in owning a budget tablet without a contract, Argos is offering the Lenovo M10 for £99.99.
