Silent Witness has returned to BBC One with a new episode titled Vanishing Point. In this instalment, Nikki Alexander (portrayed by Emilia Fox) finds herself in a predicament when a fellow passenger on her flight falls ill with a potentially fatal disease.
As her team in London investigates a similar case in India, Nikki is left with no option but to conduct an autopsy on the still-living passenger. The latest narrative sees the return of David Caves as Jack Hodgson and Maggie Steed as Harriet, along with Francesca Mills reprising her role as newcomer Kit.
Vanishing Point will air its second episode on Tuesday. The current season consists of 10 episodes, with the final story set to broadcast next week.

Porter – Kashif Ghole
Kashif Ghole, a graduate of Arts Ed in 2023, will play Porter.
He made his professional stage debut in Brown Boys Swim and has also appeared in Casualty.
Tristan – Harvey Comerford
Harvey Comerford, who grew up in West London and initially studied Theology before switching to drama, will portray Tristan.
He has featured in several short films including The Chair and What Sadie Saw.
Camilla – Georgia Jay
Georgia Jay, an English actress known for her role as Steph Miligan in Emmerdale since November 2024, will take on the character of Camilla.
She previously played Jennifer in Lake Placid vs Anaconda and Dianne Vickers in Giri/Haji.
Beth Tyler – Jo Hartley
Jo Hartley, a 52 year old English actress recognised for her roles in This Is England and Eddie the Eagle, will play Beth Tyler.
Her television appearances include roles in After Life, Bliss and Bank of Dave. The actress hails from Greater Manchester and previously worked in the aviation industry before pursuing a career in acting.
She is a mother to two sons, Gary and Richard.
Grant Townsend – Paul Hilton
Paul Hilton, known for his roles in The Bill, Midsomer Murders and True Dare Kiss, plays Grant Townsend.
The 55-year-old English actor is married to fellow actress and ceramicist Anastasia Hille, with whom he has one child. They reside in Sussex.
Tony Jenkins – Steve Oram
Tony Jenkins is portrayed by Steve Oram, a 51 year old English actor, comedian and writer recognised for his role in Sightseers, which he also co-wrote. Originally from Leicestershire, Oram has secured roles in DI Ray, Killing Eve and Doctor Who.
John Darby – Joshua Leese
Joshua Leese, an Oxford School of Drama graduate, plays John Darby. His acting credits include Extraordinary, Chernobyl and Napoleon.
Josh Darby – Kareem Alexander
Josh Darby is played by Kareem Alexander, a British-born Anglo-Egyptian actor who has produced Spoken Word pieces and directed and starred in his own short films. His acting credits include Doctors, Litvinenko and Vampire Academy.
Parveen Singh – Nikkita Chadha
Parveen Singh is brought to life by Nikkita Chadha, a London-based British actress and dancer who proudly embraces her Indian heritage. She speaks Hindi and comes from a family of actresses – her mother and sister are Nisha and Anoushka Chadha.
Her acting credits include Never Kiss Your Best Friend, Hijack and The Regime.
Jodie Wright – Connie Hyde
Connie Hyde, a 55 year old English actress hailing from Lancashire, is best recognised for her role as PC Cathy Bradford in The Bill. She has also portrayed DC Janet Miller in City Central and Catherine Heywood in Wing and a Prayer.
Connie is married to Finlo Corrin and they have two children together.
Ramesh Patel – Asif Khan
Ramesh Patel is played by Asif Khan, a 33 year old Indian actor famed for his role as Babar in Mirzapur.
Ade Kwame – Gershwyn Eustache Jr
Ade Kwame is brought to life by Gershwyn Eustache Jr, a 40 year old actor and producer from London known for his roles in Britannia, Fortitude and Run.
Emily – Samila Kul
Emily is portrayed by Samila Kul, a British Australian actress who made her television debut in Doctor Who alongside Peter Capaldi.
Her other notable performances include Rellik, Kidnapped: The Chloe Ayling Story and Casualty.
