It’s that season when we all find ourselves in need of a reliable pair of jeans. Perhaps you’re after a fresh style, your old ones have seen better days, or you’re simply on the hunt for something more flattering. Our savvy fashion reporter, Megan Archer-Fox, found herself in a similar situation not too long ago and decided to explore the vast jeans collection at Marks and Spencer in Birmingham’s Bullring, hoping to find her perfect fit.
She said: “I had a particular style in mind – I’d heard so much about Marks and Spencer’s ‘magic shaping’ design, a skinny fit with a high waist, crafted from stretchy fabric. These jeans feature a contoured waistband and front pockets designed to enhance your silhouette.
“They seemed like the ideal choice for me. After having two children in the past four years, I felt the need for a bit of extra support. I picked up the magic shaping jeans, along with a few other random styles for comparison, and headed to the fitting room.”

Megan continued: “However, what I didn’t anticipate was finding myself drawn to a completely different style. The magic shaping jeans were indeed lovely – they provided support in all the right places and gave my legs a slimmer, elongated appearance. They were comfortable and made from a soft material.
“But then I tried on another random pair I’d brought into the fitting room with me, Marks and Spencer’s boyfriend jeans. Marketed as a ‘roomy relaxed fit with a high waist’ and added stretch for flexibility, I initially dismissed them as being too loose.”
“I was absolutely smitten with them. They were surprisingly flattering, which I hadn’t anticipated. I purchased them on the spot and now, after owning them for a few months, I can confidently say they’re my favourite pair. They pair well with oversized tops, jumpers, hoodies, crop tops, and tucked-in shirts.

“Not only are they comfortable, but I also adore how they enhance my appearance. They boost my confidence and have become my go-to weekend attire. Unfortunately, the exact style of boyfriend jeans I’m wearing in the picture seems to be unavailable on M&S at the moment.”
However, these Boyfriend Ankle Grazer Jeans bear a striking resemblance and are selling like hotcakes at £39.50. They’re available in five different colours and a variety of sizes. You can purchase them here, reports Birmingham Live.
