Marcus Rashford could be offered a way out of Manchester United by former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the wake of Ruben Amorim’s brutal decision to call him out.
The forward was absent once again on Sunday as the fallen giants battled to a 1-0 victory over Fulham, with Lisandro Martinez netting the only goal of the game.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Amorim was quizzed about Rashford’s absence.
And the Portuguese, who celebrates his 40th birthday on Monday, didn’t hold back by suggesting he’d rather play his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach than Rashford at the current moment in time.

“It is always the same reason,” he said.
“The reason is the training. The way I see what a footballer should do in training, in life, every day. If things don’t change, I will not change.
“You can see it today on the bench. We needed a little bit of pace to change the game to move some pieces, but I prefer it like that.
“I will put [Jorge] Vital on before I put a player that doesn’t give the maximum. I will not change in that department.”
Now, according to The Mirror, Solskjaer could be about to come to Rashford’s rescue.
The Norweigan has returned to management with Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas, having previously opted against taking a job since his dismissal from United in November 2021.
Besiktas made a postive start to the Solskjaer era with a 4-1 victory over Athletic Club in the Europa League on Thursday.
However, they then proceeded to draw with Antaylaspor on Sunday – with their failure to win seeing them fall to sixth in the league table.

Solskjaer coached Rashford between January 2019 and November 2021.
And the report says he’s interested in a reunion with the forward as the close of the January transfer window creeps closer.
Whether Rashford would be interested in moving to Turkey remains to be seen.
His preference is understood to be a switch to Spain but Barcelona, one club mooted as potential suitors, may struggle to afford his high wages.
