Crafted by Dr Crystal Wyllie and Asda Online Doctor, this new quiz is designed to show how your daily habits might be influencing your internal health.

The quiz follows a study involving 2,000 adults which discovered that only 18 per cent of adults acknowledge they lead an unhealthy lifestyle, despite the research emphasising that a significant number of Brits harbour unhealthy habits.

The study reported seven out of 10 adults aren’t hitting the recommended quota of five portions of fruit and veg each day. A third confessed to regularly indulging in processed foods and a further 20 per cent consume fizzy drinks just as often.

Additionally, 16 per cent confessed they never engage in any form of exercise, while 21 per cent admitted they only work out once or twice a week. The main reasons for these unhealthy habits were cited as insufficient sleep and consuming processed foods.

Despite this, a third of participants have set losing weight as a New Year’s resolution, hoping to lose more than one and a half stone on average. Some 9 per cent are hoping to drop three or more stone.

To help reach their weight goal, 52 per cent over plan to exercise more, while 39 per cent aim to maintain a more balanced diet. Alternatively, 11 per cent intend to use weight loss supplements or products such as slimming injections to support the process.

Dr Wyllie, who collaborated with Asda Online Doctor to develop the quiz, acknowledged that sticking to these habits are not always easy and straightforward.

“A common issue people face is trying to do too much, too soon incremental changes, in different areas of life, are key to making slow and steady progress,” she said. “Getting healthier and losing weight doesn’t mean overhauling your life overnight.”

She recommends focusing on sustainable changes like consuming more whole foods, staying hydrated regularly, and finding physical activities you enjoy so you’re more likely to do them frequently.

“If you would like additional support to lose weight, speak to your doctor about weight loss treatments,” she advised.
