A former Metropolitan Police officer has warned that an attack on convicted killer Axel Rudakubana in prison is “inevitable”.
Speaking on GB News, Peter Kirkham drew parallels with other notorious prisoners, including Peter Sutcliffe, the Yorkshire Ripper.
“If you look at the other notorious prisoners over the years… there was still attacks on him taking place in 2007, 25/26 years later,” Kirkham said.
“It will happen undoubtedly because someone will want to make a name for themselves,” he added.

Kirkham predicted Rudakubana would spend “a lot of his time” in segregation.
His comments follow widespread rumours on social media that Rudakubana had been attacked at HMP Manchester.

A voice note circulating on Sunday claimed two inmates serving murder sentences had assaulted the 18-year-old in his cell.
In the recording, which was shared widely on X, formerly Twitter, a man could be heard saying: “Two lads here in for murder doing a 35 (year sentence). They just got let into that little b*d’s …. The child killer’s cell…. And absolutely smashed him to pieces.”
The claims sparked significant attention across social media platforms.
However, the Ministry of Justice has categorically denied these claims.
“I can confirm that reports of Axel Rudakubana being attacked in prison are inaccurate. He has not been attacked,” a Ministry of Justice spokesperson said.
It is understood Rudakubana is currently being held in a segregation unit at HMP Belmarsh in south-east London.
The high-security prison, designed to house the most dangerous offenders, is keeping Rudakubana separated from the general prison population due to fears for his safety.
His long-term prison location remains uncertain.
Last Thursday, Rudakubana was sentenced to a minimum of 52 years in prison for murdering three young girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport.
Sentencing him at Liverpool Crown Court, Mr Justice Goose described his actions as being “of such extreme violence, of the utmost and exceptionally high seriousness.”
The judge said Rudakubana had “walked straight into the building” with the intention to “murder as many of them as he physically could.”
Over 15 minutes, he killed three children and attempted to kill eight more, along with two adults who tried to intervene.
“Many might describe what he did as evil. Who could dispute it?” the judge concluded.
