A woman’s revelation about her go-to method for achieving tight and youthful skin, is a natural and budget-friendly alternative to Botox.

Amidst the constant flurry of new skincare trends and products paraded on social media, many individuals tirelessly search for that perfect item which bathes their skin in radiance. Influencer updates and celebrity beauty regimes constantly bombard our feeds, all promising that coveted ‘glass skin’ appearance.

An unconventional skincare fad has recently taken the internet by storm as folks resort to an at-home remedy involving banana peels – believed to diminish wrinkles on the face. The banana peel is enriched with lutein, a compound lauded for its ability to lock in moisture and preserve skin elasticity, and helps give you a fresh-faced gleam.

Beauty influencer @byzareefa, known for her fervour for all things related to skin health and wellbeing, nabbed an astonishing 18 million views on her TikTok channel with her endorsement of this tropical fruit technique. Zareefa attributes her mum as an ardent proponent of the regimen, a legacy she now proudly upholds herself.

Sharing her tip, Zareefa said: “You don’t need Botox. All you need is a banana peel. Inside, a banana peel contains gluten which is amazing for brightening the skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and also for fading hyperpigmentation.”

In a video, she shows how she applies the peel to her skin, much like using a face cloth. The woman, whose skin is glowing in the footage, said: “It’s brightening, hydrating and soothing. Just think of it as preventative Botox.”

She recommends repeating this process several times a week. “You are going to see a huge difference in just the brightening, the hydration and the texture of your skin,” she added.

After massaging the peel into your skin, let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then rinse it off with warm water. Zareefa concluded: “Do this consistently and I can promise you, you’re not going to need Botox.”

However, those interested in trying this trend should note that there is no scientific proof that this method is effective, so proceed with caution.
