A recently opened Turkish restaurant in Bristol is among the finalists for a coveted prize at the 2025 British Kebab Awards. Bristol’s Cappadocia restaurant, which is located on Baldwin Street, has been recognised in the ‘Best Newcomer’ category.
Amongst its fellow finalists, the Bristol venue (which opened its doors in April 2024) is also competing against Bath’s Cappadocia restaurant, which opened in 2019. Named after the Turkish destination known for its hot air balloon-filled skies, Cappadocia has become a firm favourite in both cities.
On the menu are dishes such as baba ghanoush, falafel, calamari, flatbread, mezze platters, chicken, mixed grills, and a huge array of kebabs – from shish, to kofta, vegan and veggie options, and more. Inside, both restaurants have since become known and loved for their relaxed atmosphere, stunning artwork and decor, and authentic Turkish food – there’s even the option of a takeaway.
In total, there are 12 restaurants among the finalists in the Best Newcomer category. These include:

What are the British Kebab Awards?
The British Kebab Awards in association with Just Eat are a chance to recognise and champion the efforts of local kebab takeaways and restaurants across the nation. Fans of their friendly neighbourhood kebab takeaways and restaurants can claim they truly do have Britain’s best kebab takeaway and restaurant by voting for them in the British Kebab Awards.
Described as a ‘true celebration of the industry’, The British Kebab Awards “naturally draw key figures from all sections of the takeaway and restaurant sector. As a reflection of the kebab industry’s significant contribution to the UK economy and British culture in general, the awards welcome a host of celebrities, prominent politicians, journalists and most importantly the nation’s hard-working restaurant workers for an evening of celebration.”
