If you’re a fan of all-inclusive holidays, you might already be planning your summer escape – but it’s worth noting that some destinations offer better value than others.
According to recent research by Which? holiday prices have seen an average increase of 4.2% compared to 2024, outpacing inflation. However, two popular holiday spots have defied this trend and seen a drop in prices, making them ideal choices for your next trip.
Firstly, Ibiza has seen an average price drop of 6.4%, from £1,269 per person to £1,187, equating to a saving of approximately £162 for a couple.
Other Spanish locations have also resisted the overall upward trend. The Costa Dorada has experienced an average price decrease of 2.9%, from £1,074 per person to £1,042, while holidays to Tenerife are around 2% cheaper, falling from £1,200 to £1,175.
However, if you want to take advantage of these prices, you’ll need to act quickly.
By booking your August holiday now, you could potentially save hundreds of pounds – not to mention, you’ll have more time to look forward to your trip.
Another way to save money is to travel during off-peak times, such as September. If this doesn’t fit into your schedule, consider the last week of the school summer holidays, which is typically cheaper.
Rory Boland, Editor of Which? Travel, commented: “While inflation has started to ease over the last year, our latest research has shown holiday prices bucking the trend, with a combination of increased demand, alongside rising energy and fuel costs, contributing to higher prices for holidaymakers.
“Booking early is almost always your best chance of securing the best rate – so now is the best time to get the cheapest prices on summer holidays.”
“Take the time to shop around, and if you’re holidaying with kids, consider travelling in the last week of summer holidays, as we’ve previously found this can be the cheapest week in the peak season.”
