Mystery surrounds property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s social media presence in Switzerland after he shared Instagram posts about a hotel project in the Alps, whilst his wife Princess Beatrice was notably absent from the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The Princess of York had been expected to attend the prestigious event in Davos between January 20-24.

Edoardo took to social media to showcase his company Banda Property’s Swiss hotel concept designs, featuring custom headboards and vintage details.

However, Princess Beatrice did not make an appearance at the forum as anticipated.

According to The Times, the royal was scheduled to speak about the dangers of climate change at the annual gathering in Switzerland.

The princess has been a regular attendee at the World Economic Forum in previous years.

The prestigious event, held in Davos between January 20-24, typically draws global leaders and influential figures from around the world.

Despite expectations of her participation, Princess Beatrice’s absence was notable, particularly as her husband appeared to be in Switzerland during the forum period.

The princess’s absence comes amid medical advice against long-distance travel received in December, as she expects her second child in the spring.

This medical guidance previously led to a change in the couple’s Christmas plans.

Rather than spending the festive period with Edoardo’s family in Italy as originally intended, the couple performed a U-turn.

They instead joined the wider Royal Family at Sandringham, choosing not to stay at the Royal Lodge with Beatrice’s parents.

The same medical considerations appear to have impacted her planned appearance at Davos.

Edoardo’s Instagram activity has added intrigue to the situation, with his company Banda Property sharing detailed posts about their Swiss hotel project.

The posts showcased a principal suite with views overlooking the Alps, featuring custom Banda headboards and joinery.

The design elements were described as reflecting “traditional Swiss detailing, translated into modern forms,” with vintage 1970s suspension cocoon losange fixtures.

The purpose of Edoardo’s presence in Switzerland remains unclear, particularly given Princess Beatrice’s absence from the World Economic Forum.

The rooms were described as being designed to “feel like a second home to the guests, ensuring comfort and warmth behind each door.”
