Holders Royal Belfast Academical Institution will take on Wallace High School in the Schools’ Cup quarter-finals as the Belfast school bid to hunt down another treble success in the long established competition.
Inst had a narrow win over old rivals Campbell College at Fox’s Field to reach the last eight, prevailing by just 19-17 but now must travel again to Lisburn for the next round.
Wallace had things easier when they defeated Enniskillen Royal Grammar School 31-7.
Belfast Royal Academy also progressed to the quarters with an impressive 43-26 victory over Methodist College at Pirrie Park, their reward being another away tie at either Banbridge Academy or Sullivan Upper who play on Sunday at Ravenhill as a curtain-raiser for the Ulster clash with Zebre.
Royal School Armagh will host Regent House in the wake of swatting Down High School aside by 38-0.
Regent made the trip to Coleraine Grammar where they ran out 42-7 winners.
Rainey Endowed are also in the quarter-finals following a thumping 56-12 result at Bangor Grammar and will face the winner between Dalriada and Ballymena Academy after they drew 14 points all.
