Ontario Provincial Police is investigating an alleged theft of an iPad that occurred outside a Caledon elementary school this week.

Police released a photo of the suspect, who they say met up with the victim after contacting them through Facebook Marketplace.

Cops say, just before 4 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a robbery outside Tony Pontes Public School on Kennedy Rd.

Authorities say, after agreeing to purchase an iPad, the seller and potential buyer met at the school.

Without making any payment, police allege the suspect shoved the victim and fled on foot with the item. The victim didn’t report any injuries.

The suspect is described as a male, 16 to 17 years old, approximately 5-foot-9 and weighing 120 pounds, of Hispanic/Spanish or Mediterranean descent with curly hair on top and short on the sides, and thin moustache. He was wearing a black jacket, black or grey hoodie, and red pants.

The investigation is ongoing.
