A Bristol Indian restaurant is among the finalists of this year’s National Curry Awards. Indian Kitchen, which is located on the High Street of Westbury-on-Trym, has been shortlisted in one of the nine award categories for 2025 – ‘Curry Kitchen of the Year’.

The annual awards, which are due to take place in February, aim to highlight and recognise the successes in the industry here in the UK, with the Asian catering industry valued to be at around £5billion. The awards were launched in order to promote the businesses and highlight the creativity of the industry’s talented chefs.

According to the official website: “The NCA winners represent the best that can be achieved through dedication to creating delectable cuisine and to providing first-class customer service.”

Within the event, restaurants and chefs can receive gongs in one or more of the following nine categories – ‘Best of Midlands’, ‘Best of Manchester’, ‘Best of Birmingham’, ‘Vegetarian Restaurant of the Year’, ‘Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year’, ‘Local Restaurant of the Year’, ‘Curry Kitchen of the Year’, ‘Punjabi Restaurant of the Year’, and ‘Bangladeshi Restaurant of the Year’.

Indian Kitchen specialises in fast food and Indian cuisine with a menu that boasts ‘great food at affordable prices’. It offers takeaway and delivery options, as well as the option to book a table and eat in.

Head chef Mr Sharma says: “Cooking to me is genuinely everything. From starting off as a young chef in Delhi at the Taj Palace Hotel, this profession has allowed me to support my family over the years by serving authentic flavour-filled food.

“A decade of experience and training later, I utilised my knowledge and skills as a head chef in many restaurants across England – Southall, Luton, Cambridge, Weston-super-Mare, Bristol, Bedford and Swindon. The customer satisfaction I have seen in these places is what I hope and work towards seeing here in this kitchen.”
