Major UK supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose and Aldi are urgently recalling Newcastle Brown Ale 550ml bottles due to potential glass fragments in the product.
Heineken UK has issued the recall across multiple retailers as a precautionary measure.
Customers are being advised not to consume the affected bottles and to return them to stores for a full refund.
No other Heineken products are affected by this issue.

In its notice, Tesco said: “If you’ve bought an affected product, please don’t consume it. Instead, return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.”
Sainsbury’s in its statement said: “Sainsbury’s have been made aware that Heineken is recalling the above product from Sainsbury’s stores due to the potential presence of glass fragments. Please do not consume this product and return the unopened product to your local store for a full refund.”
Customers have been told by the supermarkets that if they require more information, they should contact [email protected].
“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety,” stated Morrisons in its recall.

The products, which are across Northern Ireland, have been recalled due to possible plastic contamination.
The affected products include various seasonings and salts, which the company warns may contain pieces of plastic.
“The possible presence of plastic makes these products unsafe to eat,” the Food Standards Agency warned.
