Don’t quit your day job.

That would amount to the advice that the Maple Leafs might give to goaltender Joseph Woll and star winger Mitch Marner.

The two appeared onstage at the Kygo show at Scotiabank Arena on Thursday night, singing along to the Norwegian DJ and music producer’s hit single Stargazing.

Video of the, er, performance went viral.

“Not very good,” Leafs coach Craig Berube said. “We showed it to the team. They saw it first-hand. Stick to playing a piano.”

That would be a reference to the musically inclined Woll. He’s a big fan of Kygo and has a drawing of one of the artist’s live performances at The Troll’s Tongue in Norway painted on his mask.

On Thursday night, Woll gave Kygo a replica of the mask.

“It was pretty sweet, I was pretty happy to meet him,” Woll said. “The manager was asking if I wanted to go sing Stargazing. I warned him that I’m not much of a singer. I can maybe play the piano or something for it, but singing was the only option.

“We got Mitch to come up too. I think it would have been a lot more nerve-wracking if it was just me up there. Mitch helped me out a bit.”

Leafs winger Ryan Reaves acknowledged the chirps that were directed Woll’s way in the dressing room before practice and owned up to being the source of most of them.

Reaves was reminded about Woll’s piano-playing background and interest in music.

“That’s why I was surprised in the rhythm that came out of him,” Reaves said. “He’s great at the piano. I know he DJs a little bit, he makes music on the side.

“Hopefully he just doesn’t get caught dancing to his music anymore.”
