Jeremy Clarkson has responded to recent reports that his farm shop near his Cotswolds pub was selling one food item for hundreds of pounds after a guest spotted a “pie” with a £200 price tag.
Taking to X, the straight-talking former Top Gear star hit back at the claims to explain the item on sale for the hefty price was “not food,” as was implied in a social media clip doing the rounds, sparking outrage.
It came as social media users were left aghast to find the “greedy” prices the 64-year-old had been charging for some of his products at his Oxfordshire shop.
In the video, the guest included they had seen a pie on sale for £199.99.
The reviewer stated in the Instagram clip: “I went to Jeremy Clarkson’s pub and farm shop so you don’t have to.
“A place where you pay £2 to park in a muddy field, and choose from the array of overpriced souvenirs that will end up in your bin.
There are reports in some of the sillier newspapers that the enormous pork pie is for sale at the Farmer’s Dog for £200. You’re welcome to buy it for that, but I wouldn’t recommend eating it. As it’s not made of food.

“Like this bl**** candle, for £22 and enough pie to throw at your neighbour for £200.
“Or a litre of non-organic milk for £6.10, including the bottle. And before you leave, try the construction site pee experience in this shipping container.”
The account’s followers quickly slammed the Grand Tour star, who has now pointed out that the “enormous pork pie” was not a food product.
“There are reports in some of the sillier newspapers that the enormous pork pie is for sale at the Farmer’s Dog for £200,” Clarkson began in an X statement.

“You’re welcome to buy it for that, but I wouldn’t recommend eating it. As it’s not made of food,” he quipped, shutting down the reports.
Several of Clarkson’s 8million X followers responded in the comments, with one replying: “Sounds like porky pies to me…”
“I do think now that you SHOULD make a £200 pork pie,” another quipped.
“I’ve cancelled my order,” someone else commented, with a fourth adding: “Sounds like there might be a market for £200 pork pies out there Jezza.”
“But I’m sure someone would pay that because it came from your pub, best get marketing Jeremy,” someone else suggested.
Another shared: “Honestly I wish your pork pies were headline news everywhere.”

Despite the confusion regarding the item on sale, it isn’t the first time visitors have slammed Clarkson’s pricing at Diddly Squat.
In November, the pricing at the pub, The Farmer’s Dog, sparked fury among fans as its official Instagram page posted a snap of one of the dishes, a fillet steak served with carrots, mash, and cabbage.
The caption detailed that the dish cost £28, leaving some to ask: “Where’s the rest of it?”
However, many once again jumped to Clarkson’s defense, with some deeming the price “reasonable” for a fillet steak.
