Durham Regional Police say they are looking for a suspect after shots were fired at a Whitby business this week.

Police say they were contacted Thursday at around 8:45 a.m. after an employee saw several bullet holes in the front windows of the business in the area of Hopkins St. and Nichol Ave.

Authorities say a review of security footage confirmed a man fired a handgun at the business at approximately 11:50 p.m. Wednesday before fleeing the area in a silver SUV.

The business was closed at the time of the shooting and no injuries have been reported, police said.

AJAX MAN CHARGED WITH SEX ASSAULT

An Ajax man is being accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a Toronto medical clinic.

Toronto Police say the victim was at the clinic in the Finch Ave. W. and Oakdale Rd. area on Nov. 18, 2024 when, during her examination, she was sexually assaulted.

On Thursday, police said Akthar Naeem, 69, was charged with sexual assault.

Investigators believe that there may be more victims.
