A van smashed through the front window of a Post Office before two men broke into the shop. A cordon was in place around Winterbourne Post Office, in Flaxpits Lane, this morning (Wednesday, January 22) after an alarm was activated late on Tuesday night.
Avon and Somerset Police were called to the scene at around 11.50pm yesterday (Tuesday, January 21), after a silver van crashed into the building. Two men were seen entering the shop before leaving a short while later.
Officers are now appealing for information and ask anyone who saw the incident to get in contact.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were attended a business in Flaxpits Lane, Winterbourne, at around 11.50pm yesterday (Tuesday 21 January) after we were notified of an alarm being activated.
“A silver van had collided with the building and two men were seen entering the shop. They left a short time later.
“Enquiries are ongoing and if anyone in the local area and witnessed the incident or have doorbell or dashcam footage, please call 101 and quote reference 5225017923.”
