Strictly Come Dancing star Nadiya Bychkova has shared a cryptic message on social media, seemingly taking a dig at her ex, Kai Widdrington, and her romantic history.
The professional dancer, 35, split from co-star Widdrington, 29, last year after a two-year romance with the fellow dancer.
The pair made their breakup announcement ahead of the 20th series of the show, and have also shared some candid statements relating to the separation.
Taking to Instagram recently on Tuesday, Bychkova shared a message about being taken “down to his level” in a post that advised followers to choose their partner “wisely”.
Amid a series of pictures shared on her Instagram Story, which showed the choreographer attending an event in London, the post read: “A man will always take you down to his level. It’s either up or down. Choose wisely, sis.”
The statement could be in relation to her ex, with the pair’s romance having been in the public eye until their shock breakup.

Bychkova’s relationship with Widdrington was also the latest the Ukrainian dancer endured.
The pair were spotted together on several occasions, always seeming very loved-up as they were snapped together.
Back in the summer, the couple confirmed they had called time on their relationship, citing the pressures of working and touring as the key reason for the split.
They first met in 2021 during Widdrington’s debut appearance on Strictly. They became close and were romantically linked the following year.

In October, Bychkova seemed to hint that the pair hadn’t remained completely civil as she emphasised while talking about her ex “we are not friends”.
When asked about her former romance, she commented: “We work together but we are not friends and that’s okay.”
“One thing I can tell you is that when you see me dancing with him it will be amazing because I’m a professional,” she added while talking to The Mirror.
The Ukrainian dancer has starred in Strictly since 2017, and was partnered last year with Olympic swimmer Tom Dean.
Unfortunately, the duo were the first pair to leave the 2024 series – with their exit the subject of controversy regarding the judges’ decision.
Widdrington, however, seemed to make his feelings regarding his ex clear in September after she was booted off the show, which sparked complaints of “a fix”.
It came as the couple were eliminated by the judges despite being in the dance-off against Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones, who were early favourites to leave.

While viewers fumed over the exit and Bychkova herself issuing a cryptic statement, Widdrington seemed to support Jones and Willcox.
He “liked” a social media post by Jones, expressing his pride towards Willcox despite the backlash they had faced.
More recently, Bychkova broke her silence on the breakup with Widdrington earlier this month. During an appearance on ITV’s Loose Women, she was asked about working alongside her former partner.
“Well, I don’t think any break-up is easy,” she replied. “But we’re professionals, so we obviously knew that we would have to go back to work together, and that’s what we do.”
