If you’re looking for a “flattering” new outfit that could pass for a designer brand but without the hefty price tag, this £35 M&S dress could be just what you need.

The Jersey Animal Print Midaxi Bodycon Dress, from the M&S Collection, is currently the store’s number one bestseller in dresses, despite being new to the shelves.

The dress is crafted from 95% viscose and 5% elastane for a comfortable fit all day long with added stretch. It is cut in a long-sleeved bodycon shape to help streamline your figure.

And the high, round neckline contrasts with the bold zebra print for an effortlessly stylish look, making the dress an easy-to-wear wardrobe staple that can take you from day to night.

The midaxi dress sits at around 130cm long from neck to hem, and can be machine-washed on a delicate 40°C spin, as well as tumble dried and ironed at a low temperature.

At the time of writing, the M&S dress was available in sizes 6-22, with the Petite size 6 having sold out. And the best part is, at just £35, this trendy number won’t break the bank – but is sure to get plenty of wear from winter into spring.

M&S shoppers love this dress, giving it an average rating of 4.5 stars out of five.

One happy customer wrote: “Stunning dress which is fab during the day with boots, but could also be dressed up for a night out. It’s cosy and comfy and I would say true to size, I also think it’s a little more classy than traditional zebra print, being beige and black rather than white and black.”

Another added: “Size 18 and a perfect fit for my 5’8 body. It’s not a thick jersey but the shape is flattering, as it flares out slightly from the waist line, so skims across my tum and bum. Not worn yet but can see myself dressing it up or down. Think it’ll look great in the spring teamed with a shaggy fur black gilet, with either chunky boots or ankle boots that I have.”

And a third even reckoned the M&S dress could pass for a designer brand, writing: “Fabulous! Very fitted and elegant. True to size, or buy a size smaller for figure hugging. I said I was wearing a dress I bought from Joseph in London, it looks that good!”

The one criticism of the dress came from a shopper who said the pattern was “lopsided”, writing: “The standout feature of this dress is the central zebra pattern, but despite visiting a large store and ordering five extra dresses on line, I couldn’t find one with a central pattern. I have kept one dress, but the pattern is lopsided and not as illustrated online.”

If you can’t get enough of animal print, another new addition to the M&S Collection is this Animal Print Ribbed Relaxed Jumper with Wool, which boasts a similar zebra print in either black and white, or a more neutral colour. The sweatshirt has been described as “beautifully warm and soft”, and will only cost you £29.50.

Or elsewhere, you can bag the Gini London Cream Leopard Print Midi Dress at New Look, for £35 – which shoppers have called an “absolutely gorgeous” dress that “exceeded expectations”.
