A 37-year-old Toronto man is sought after a Toronto Police officer was dragged by a vehicle on Tuesday afternoon.
Toronto Police said officers conducted a vehicle stop at 3:28 p.m. for a Highway Traffic Act offence in the Lawrence-Midland Aves. area of Scarborough.
Police said officers stopped a black BMW after a driver allegedly ran a stop sign in a school zone.
During the investigation, police determined that the driver was breaching his release conditions. When officers tried to arrest the suspect, he allegedly placed the vehicle into drive and dragged one of the officers a “short distance” before fleeing the scene.
The officer was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Jerome Fitzroy Morgan is wanted for assault with a weapon, failing to remain and failing to comply with conditions.
The suspect vehicle is a 2011 four-door black BMW with the Ontario licence plate CXFS 615.
