ITV Chaser Mark Labbett has received supportive messages from fans after issuing a health update. The quizzer, 59, has lost a lot of weight in recent years, having been told he was diabetic back in 2017.
At the end of last year, The Chase star Mark told the Loose Women panel he had no idea he had diabetes until a nurse asked him about a cut on his leg that wasn’t healing properly. Mark said “no”, but a simple blood test said otherwise.
During his appearance on the lunchtime show back in November, Mark said he had no other symptoms apart from the wound. In a new Instagram update posted on Tuesday, Mark said he has now “found my balance”, thanks to a device that monitors his glucose levels.
He said: “With DexCom I have found my balance. Staying in control day and night and even diabetics need an occasional sweet :)”, and fans have been quick to respond. In the post’s comments section, one follower wrote: “You look so different and have dropped 10 years!”
A second said: “You look fantastic, but no longer beasty.. great work though!” A third said: “So glad this is working out for you – superstar!” Mark has lost around 10 stone in recent years, and previously said his goal weight is 17 stone.
