Home Secretary Yvette Cooper shook her head in disbelief in the commons today, Chris Philp called on her to acknowledge that greater transparency could have helped combat misleading narratives that potentially fueled the Southport riots.
He argued that withholding information created “a void” that became filled with misinformation, potentially contributing to subsequent unrest.
This comes after 18-year-old Axel Rudakubana pleaded guilty yesterday to murdering three young girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport.
