Police have launched a renewed appeal to try and find a man who sexually assaulted a nine-year-old boy in a children’s play area more than eight years ago. The incident occurred on August 13, 2016, at Sandymouth Holiday Home Park in Bude, Cornwall, inside a piece of play equipment shaped like a pirate ship in the outdoor play area.
The male suspect is believed to have been aged around 16-20 at the time, and assaulted the young boy, who was just nine years old, inside the pirate ship. Investigating officers are continuing their enquiries, and remain keen to speak to anyone on the park around the time of the incident.
Anybody with any holiday photographs that could possibly assist the investigation, is asked to get in touch.
Detective Constable Clare Keenan said: “This incident occurred out of sight, but there were other children in the play area at the time who spoke with the victim and may have information which could assist our enquiries. We are keen to hear from anyone who may be able to help us identify him.
“I’d ask anyone who was staying on the site around the time of the incident, anyone whose children may have used the play area and may have any holiday photographs that will help assist in identifying the suspect, or provide any information which could assist our enquiries, to get please get in touch.”
