GB News host Andrew Pierce has expressed outrage over revelations that a convicted grooming gang abuser was linked to plans for a children’s care home in Leeds.
“How do they not do due diligence? Is there no due diligence when somebody is trying to open a care home for children who are often going to be children who have are vulnerable?” Andrew demanded.
Grooming gang abuser Abid Younis, who owns the property in question, was seeking to establish a 21-bedroom care facility.
Younis was jailed in June 2015 for two-and-a-half years, and was part of a ten-strong gang convicted for abuse in the West Yorkshire area, including the abuse of a 12-year-old girl.

GB News national reporter Charlie Peters, who broke the story, said: “I didn’t believe it when I was tipped off first about this one over a week ago, but like so many of these tragic cases, it’s absolutely true.”
Charlie revealed his investigation uncovered “clear attempts to cover up his background.”
Charlie revealed the planning application has now been withdrawn following GB News’s investigation exposing the links between Younis and the proposed care home.
“I understand this planning application has been withdrawn since we broke our story, exposing the links between this grooming gang abuser and this application,” Charlie revealed.

He emphasised the significance of the withdrawal, noting: “This would have happened. This would have gone through.”

Planning applications revealed attempts to obscure Younis’s identity in the documentation.
While earlier applications used his full name, more recent ones referred to him as “Mr A Hussain” or “Abid Hussain.”
Charlie told GB News: “Also to stress Abid Younis, this child sex offender, in some previous planning applications that I’ve seen, I’ve looked through his extensive record of planning applications, he has changed his name in some circumstances, calling himself Mr. Abid Hussain. So there’s a clear scenario.”
Sharing further details of the abuse gang that Younis was a part of, Charlie stated that many of the members have been “released” and not been considered for “deportation”.

Charlie concluded: “As I understand it, most of the abusers in that gang have now been released, and it’s remarkable what happens when grooming gang abusers, members of these rape and exploitation gangs return to freedom.
“Because they go straight back into their communities. They very rarely suffer community punishment. Many of the people involved in that gang were born in Pakistan.”
GB News has seen correspondence between councillors and council officials expressing concern at the planning proposal.
Younis, Chaudhary and the company director for QASA Care Services, Farooq, did not respond to a request for comment.
