A Hamilton man and woman face multiple drugs and firearm-charges after police executed search warrants at a downtown Hamilton residence and vehicle last week.
Hamilton Police say more than 930 grams of cocaine, 18 grams of methamphetamine, 700 grams of illicit cannabis and 4,400 grams of illicit cannabis resin or hash were seized on Jan. 17.
Officers also allegedly found a .45-calibre Glock handgun modified with an auto sear to fire like a machine-gun, 400 rounds of ammunition, a high-capacity magazine and two prohibited knives.
Michael Daniel, 35, and Kayla Leite, 33, both face the same 10 drugs-and-firearm-related charges: Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing, proceeds of crime under $5,000, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, possession of a prohibited device (auto sear on handgun), possession of a prohibited device (over capacity magazine for handgun), and possession of a prohibited weapon (flick knife).
Daniel, who was also bound by a weapons prohibition order, was subsequently charged with three counts of possession contrary to order.
