Co Antrim quarry and minerals processor Kilwaughter Holdings has reported a slight increase in turnover to £50.1m in its latest results.

And profits before tax at the firm were up 9% from £8.8m to £9.6m over the year to April 30 2024, while turnover was up from £49.8m.

Kilwaughter Minerals outside Larne, which employs around 200 people, was acquired last year by the multi-national Saint-Gobain Group.

It said its accounts had now been filed at Companies House though they are not yet publicly available.

The business operates in construction and agriculture, developing and manufacturing products like external wall insulation systems, soil health conditioning minerals and livestock bedding lime solutions.

Parent company Saint-Gobain is a global player in products for the construction industry, and employs 160,000 people across 76 countries.

Throughout the financial year, Kilwaughter invested £1.8m to increase capacity and enhance plant efficiency. A number of new products were also launched.

Group brands include Kilwaughter Lime, K Systems and K Rend, which is the UK and Ireland’s market-leading silicone render manufacturer.

During 2024, the company featured on the  Belfast Telegraph’s Top 100 Companies, and was named as one of Ireland’s Best Managed Companies by Deloitte for the third consecutive year.

It said it had donated £180,000 over the year to community, educational and charitable projects.
