A 24-year-old Mississauga man and an 18-year-old woman from the Manitoulin Island area face a slew of weapon and drug charges after a search warrant was conducted at a Mississauga home earlier this month.
In a news release issued on Monday, Peel Regional Police said patrol officers responded on Jan. 7 to a call for service that involved a suspected overdose linked to an illicit drug.
An investigation into the source of the drugs ensued and officers executed a search warrant Thursday at a residence in the Roche Crt.-Fowler Rd. area.
Officers found a man allegedly in possession of a loaded illegal firearm and a large quantity of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, Percocet tablets and cannabis.
A man and a woman were arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Kobe Archer was charged with possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime, trafficking (opioids), possession for the purpose of distributing and three counts of possession for the purpose trafficking.
Rhianna Spanish, from the Sheshegwaning First Nation, was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
