A Toronto man faces charges after a gun-toting thug opened fire on the occupant of a vehicle, leaving the victim with serious wounds.
Peel Regional Police alleged a gunman was in a stolen vehicle last Nov. 9 when he shot a victim in another vehicle multiple times in Brampton’s Inder Heights Dr.-Mayfield Rd. area.
Police said the victim was taken to a hospital, where medical personnel treated him for life-altering injuries. The shooting was a case of mistaken identity, according to investigators.
Hakeem Thomas, 22, was charged with attempted murder, possession of property obtained by crime and firearms offences.
Hakeem was held pending a bail hearing and is also a subject of an ongoing Toronto Police investigation.
