Jeremy Clarkson has delivered a health update and the strict changes he has had to make after his scare last year – as well as rubbing shoulders with Ellen DeGeneres who has become a regular at his Cotswolds pub after relocating to the UK following Donald Trump’s election victory.
The 66-year-old comedian now frequents The Farmer’s Dog in Oxfordshire, where Clarkson has warmly welcomed her presence.
While filming ITV’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, Clarkson commented on his new routine and revealed: “My phone flashed up this morning saying: ‘You are taking far fewer steps this week than last’.
“I thought, ‘Yeah I would be as I am sitting here’. It also says you are eating far fewer sausages. I just sit here and eat celery. I am feeling better about it. I do feel very well.”
The former Top Gear presenter added that he now has a dietician who advised him to avoid processed foods and explained: “I have been to see a dietician. The dietician has given me a pretty good list and said: ‘Don’t eat processed food’.
“If it’s got more than one ingredient in it, don’t eat it. I feel great.”
Jeremy Clarkson underwent heart surgery last year

His overheal diet comes after he revealed in October last year he was “days away from death” before undergoing an urgent heart operation recently.
The star has now been focussing on his pub – The Farmers Dog – which opened in Summer 2024, and has attracted the liked of former US TV presenter Degeneres.
“She lives in the village where our pub is. Absolutely I welcome them all,” Clarkson told The Mirror.
DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi, 51, made the move to rural England in November.
The couple’s departure came shortly before Trump could be sworn in for his second term as President, having purchased their Cotswolds home in October.
A source told PEOPLE: “Ellen was in England house hunting in the beginning of October. She ended up finding a house that she loved and purchased it shortly after.”
DeGeneres has also transformed her appearance since arriving in Britain, trading her signature blonde hair for a darker, shorter pixie cut, and was spotted dancing with her wife during an intimate performance by The Corrs at The Farmer’s Dog,
A social media post from the night captured the atmosphere: “@natalie_imbruglia @thetallirish @jamesblunt what a great night in the pub with @thecorrsofficial ..the way a good pub night should be.. Acoustic set, a few drinks, great friends @jeremyclarkson1 thanks for organising it!”
Despite DeGeneres’s previous controversies, including claims of a “toxic workplace” environment that led to her stepping down from her chat show in 2022, Clarkson has praised her character.
“Everyone said she has been cancelled but she seemed nice when she came to the pub, the staff said she was very friendly and lovely,” he told The Mirror.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
Jeremy Clarkson backed Ellen’s decision to move and welcomed her to his pub
“I am not going to believe what I read online. She seemed lovely,” the broadcaster added.
While The Farmer’s Dog has attracted celebrity clientele since opening in August 2024, Clarkson recently admitted the pub faces challenges.
He revealed in December that the venue is “a total disaster” due to theft and high operating costs.
The pub spends £27,000 monthly on parking and traffic marshals, while also battling the loss of pint glasses, with 104 reportedly stolen in a single Sunday.
