Prince William has revealed a unique parenting rule for his three children regarding football allegiances.

The Prince of Wales, a devoted Aston Villa supporter, has made it clear there’s one team his children cannot support: Chelsea FC.

The restriction comes despite the Royal Family being surrounded by Chelsea supporters in their London circle.

While the prince maintains he won’t force his children to support any particular team, he’s drawn a firm line when it comes to the West London club.

His eldest son, Prince George, has already followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming an Aston Villa supporter.

The revelation came during an informal meet-and-greet with Aston Villa supporters at a Wetherspoons in Birmingham’s New Street Station.

Villa fan Darren Johnson explained: “George is a Villa fan, and we asked about the rest of the children.

“He said he wouldn’t force a football team onto them as long as it wasn’t Chelsea because all the people around him are Chelsea fans.”

The casual conversation occurred before an Aston Villa match against Everton.

Steve Jones, a non-league football team chairman, recalled that William spent nearly an hour chatting with fans.

“We were told to address him however we wanted—Will or William—because he was off duty,” Jones explained.

William’s connection to Aston Villa began in his youth through a caretaker who supported the club.

The caretaker took him to his first match against Bolton, sparking a lifelong passion that he’s now sharing with his son.

Neither King Charles nor other Royal Family members share William’s enthusiasm for football.

“It’s just me and George,” William told the Villa supporters, highlighting their special bond over the sport.

Prince George has been spotted multiple times at Villa Park with his father, cementing his position as a devoted Villa supporter.

The father-son duo regularly attend matches together, cheering from the stands.

While William maintains a relaxed approach to his children’s sporting preferences, the Chelsea restriction remains firm.

The football allegiances of Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, are yet to be revealed.
