A man pictured in social media post knocking a woman’s phone out of her hand while they fought over parking spot in the Burlington Costco on Saturday was arrested by Halton Regional Police.
However, Const. Jeff Dillon said the unidentified man was sent to through an “Adult Diversion Program” and not charged with any criminal offence, following the 1:40 p.m. dispute.
“During a verbal altercation, an adult male suspect knocked the female victim’s phone out of her hand,” said Dillion.
“The options available through the Adult Diversion Program cover a wide range of restorative or remedial acts, such as community service, counselling and apology etc.,” he added. “A diversion officer oversees the file. If the agreed to terms are not fulfilled by a participant, a formal charge can then be laid before the courts. In this case, as it’s a pre-charge program and no formal charge has been laid before the court. We are unable to release any further personal details of the arrested male.”

“Police over there — go,” counters the man, pointing across the lot.
“Who authorized you to make a movie?” he later says.
