BBC Radio 2 presenter Rylan Clark has cheekily told a fellow presenter to “get over it” as he issued an “apology”.

Speaking about Scott Mills’ upcoming move to the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, Rylan expressed his excitement: “I’m so exited for my boy, he’s all grown up, he’s taking over BBC Radio 2 breakfast, it’s going to be so good.”

As Scott prepares to transition from his regular afternoon slot to the morning one, Rylan confessed that their old habit of nights out will continue despite potential ‘hangovers’: “I’m going to miss him on nights out, but we’ll still just have to get him on nights out and he’ll be hungover for the show. Sorry, I know I’m supposed to be professional but get over it.”

Scott, who took over Steve Wright’s afternoon slot on BBC Radio 2 last year, was announced as Zoe Ball’s replacement on the breakfast show last November.

As Scott gears up to take over from Zoe on Monday January 27, Rylan revealed that he would be welcoming Scott onto his Saturday morning show next week for a ‘pep talk’, saying: “Scott, we can’t wait for you to start and I should say as well, Scott is going to be on this show next Saturday ahead of his debut.”

The former X Factor celeb made everyone chuckle as they remarked: “We’re going to be giving him a little pep talk, a little massage around the shoulders and I might be throwing some things his way. Because you know when you do breakfast (radio presenting) you’ve got to be on your game.”

The radio persona started impressively early at age 16 and has climbed the ranks in broadcasting, leading to their own BBC Radio 1 show from 2004 to 2022, and now stepping into Zoe Ball’s shoes on BBC Radio 2, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Away from his work in the world of radio, Scott has also made an array of TV appearances down the years, notably appearing as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 when he and Joanne Clifton finished in 11th place.
