Dancing on Ice has waved goodbye to its first celebrity in the 2025 season amidst a dramatic shake-up.

The ITV favourite made a splash on screen once more last Sunday night (January 19), with Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern at the helm.

Last week viewers saw talent like Chris Taylor, Sam Aston, and Ferne McCann grace the ice with impressive routines. This week, it was time for the remaining five stars to don their skates and impress the panel.

Taking to the rink was EastEnders icon Charlie Brooks and Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave, joined by Mollie Pearce, Dan Edgar, and Josh Jones.

But in an unexpected twist, the programme strayed from the traditional skate-off, and instead, the contestant scoring lowest combining public votes and judges’ tallies faced immediate elimination, reports the Mirror.

The turn of events spelt the end for one notable competitor as Chelsee Healey found herself leaving the series. Upon her exit, Chelsee commented while holding back tears: “It’s fine.”

Holly expressed surprise at the result, saying: “I think everyone is shocked actually to see you in this position,” to which Chelsee responded: “Personally there’s been a lot going on with me that I’ve been struggling with so I couldn’t focus, but I’m just really grateful.”

Fans were sad to see Chelsee go

Viewers at home were quick to voice their opinions on the surprise voting mechanic. One individual remarked on X: “Getting rid of the dance-off is completely unfair because it puts one group at a disadvantage to the other.”

A second person wrote: “I do think the other skating couple should be given an extra week to skate , not really fair on them being voted out so quickly when it was their first week skating.”

Meanwhile, viewers also expressed their opinions on Chelsee’s departure. One fan wrote: “Chelsee really deserved more respect.” Another added: “I feel sorry for Chelsee.”

A third lamented: “No way should Chelsee have gone! She was incredible….not fair at all – Boo.”

Dancing on Ice airs every Sunday at 6.30pm on ITV1
