Zara and Mike Tindall are unlikely to permanently leave the UK, a commentator has told GB News.

The pair have maintained strong ties to Australia, particularly through their annual January visits to the Magic Millions Racecourse.

Zara, an accomplished equestrian, has served as the Magic Millions Racing Women Ambassador since 2012, following her Olympic silver medal success in London.

The prestigious racing event has become a permanent fixture in her calendar since taking on the patronage role.

The couple’s affinity for Australia has sparked speculation about a potential permanent move, though royal experts suggest otherwise.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has dismissed suggestions of a permanent Australian move for the Tindalls.

“I wouldn’t have thought so. I’d have thought they’ve got the balance they want, and also they’re forceful enough people to make sure they do get that balance,” he told GB News exclusively.

Fitzwilliams highlighted their freedom as non-working royals, stating: “They’re not constrained by being working roles or anything like that. So it’s really entirely up to them.”

“There’s nothing specific keeping them from what they’re doing. If they were working royals, that would be very different, and they’re not,” he added.

He also quipped: “She’s very accomplished, and he’s a character who gets away with all sorts of things.”

The Tindalls currently reside on Aston Farm, situated within Princess Anne’s privately owned Gatcombe Park estate.

The couple share their countryside home with their three children: daughters Mia Grace and Lena Elizabeth, and son Lucas Philip.

Zara, born sixth-in-line to the throne in 1981, now holds the 21st position in the line of succession.

She sits below her brother Peter’s two children in the royal hierarchy.

Her position is expected to change to 22nd in 2025, following the anticipated arrival of Princess Beatrice’s second child.

Despite speculation about relocation, the Tindalls have expressed mixed feelings about a permanent move to Australia.

“We love the lifestyle and the weather obviously is incredible. It’s just very relaxed,” Zara told the Australian Financial Review.

She added: “We’ve got a lot of friends out there. I’ve also been very lucky to be involved in Magic Millions for more than 10 years, which is another reason to go back.”

However, Mike Tindall has firmly rejected rumours of a permanent move.

“Everyone keeps telling us we’re moving there but we’re not,” he told Hello!. “It’s so far away, especially when you have a big family,” he explained.
