An Oxfordshire Sainsbury’s store has been dubbed “more dangerous than South Africa” after a spate of crime at the supermarket.
Multiple incidents of theft have plagued the superstore along Oxford Road in Kidlington in recent months leaving customers fearing for their wellbeing, as well as police issuing appeals.
Adding to a list of thefts in the “dangerous” store, a woman’s bag was stolen at the supermarket chain, before she was eventually able to retrieve it.
“This Sainsbury’s is not safe and people need to know,” said the anonymous victim, whose bag was stolen on January 11.

Calling for action, she demanded: “Something needs to be done by the retailer.”
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
In an email addressed to Sainsbury’s directly, the victim said: “I wanted you to know so that you can do something about the lack of security in this store and that this situation should never happen again to anyone else.
“The security and staff are so relaxed and nowhere to be found in this shop that the perpetrator was able to walk into the shop with a cigarette in his mouth and simply walk out again after.”
In another instance, a woman’s purse was stolen when she visited the superstore on December 13.
The thief later used her bank cards to buy a number of items across various stores, which culminated in Thames Valley Police publishing a photo of a man with whom they wish to speak.
