A 25-year-old man is accused of attacking strangers as they sat in their vehicles downtown.

Toronto Police say officers responded to the first incident after receiving a call for an assault that had just occurred near Dundas St. W. and Elizabeth St. – west of Bay St. – shortly before 8 a.m. on Thursday.

The victim was in their car when they were approached by a man, police said in a statement released Saturday.

The man allegedly opened the driver’s door of the car and assaulted the victim, who was able to close their car door and drive away.

Minutes later, around 8 a.m., a second victim was in their car when they were allegedly approached by the same man.

Once again, police said the man opened the driver’s door of the car and assaulted the victim.

The second victim was also eventually able to close their car door and drive away.

Neither of the victims required medical attention as a result of the assaults, police said.

A suspect was subsequently identified and arrested in the area.
