A woman was left gobsmacked when she discovered the amount of freebies up for grabs on her birthday, ranging from food to beauty treats.
Makeup artist Yaz Moore took to TikTok to share her shopping adventure as she sought out the most generous birthday offers from various shops. Her first stop was Krispy Kreme, where she was able to pick a complimentary doughnut of her choice.
“I’m quite excited, I don’t know which one to pick,” she expressed before finally making her selection of a cinnamon toffee apple doughnut. “How good is that, you just don’t get free things anymore.”
Note that most shops will ask you to be part of their loyalty program or verify it’s your birthday in order for you to take advantage of their birthday freebies.
Next, she visited Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, unsure of the treat that awaited. The scene quickly shifted to a delighted Yaz, now holding a pretzel: “I just picked myself up free pretzel. You can pick from the sweet, salted or cinnamon one. I can’t believe this was free. I’m honestly gonna be so full after all of this.”
She then approached Marks and Spencer, saying they might offer the best birthday perk out of all shops. “You can claim a full size cake or cupcake for free on your birthday,” she noted while entering the store. “Which I think is probably the best find so far.”
As she strolled into the M&S food hall, she immediately went to the cake section. Here, she was faced with a tempting array of nine-pack cupcakes, typically priced at £4, or an assortment of full-sized cakes available at the same price.
After some deliberation, she opted for the fruity mini cupcakes selection. Her shopping adventure continued as she sought out beauty gifts, beginning at Rituals, which offers a complimentary body wash on your birthday.
“With the rituals one you do have to buy something [in order to collect the gift], so I’m gonna pick this up,” she explained, showcasing her chosen item. She highlighted that customers can select any scent they prefer from the range of body washes.
At checkout, she proudly displayed her transaction, confirming that she received the foaming shower gel, usually selling for £9.90, at no cost. Next, she headed to Hotel Chocolat, where a £5 birthday voucher awaited her.
“We’re now off to Hotel Chocolat and you can get a £5 off voucher for your birthday,” she mentioned before selecting Mocha latte coffee. “So yeah it’s not a free gift in Hotel Chocolat, but you do get £5 off and I needed to get these anyway, so that was good.”
She wrapped up her trip by visiting Space NK, explaining that as part of their ‘NK NDULGE’ loyalty program, with a purchase made within the past year, she could snag three mini products for free.
During her birthday treats hunt, she popped into Gail’s which offered a complimentary drink or sweet treat, before heading to Greggs for an additional free sweet treat of her choice.
As her haul came to a close, she said: “Guys we found so many good things. Everything just tastes nicer I think when it’s free.”
