WINNIPEG — The Manitoba government is urging drivers to avoid all roadways in southern Manitoba as storm conditions have made visibility near zero in certain areas.

Several highways, including the Perimeter and the Trans-Canada Highway from Brandon to Winnipeg, are closed due to the storm.

Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure says priority on the roads has been reserved for emergency vehicles due to a high number of accidents.

High winds and blizzard-like conditions are causing hazardous driving conditions.

Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a blizzard warning for parts of southern Manitoba this morning.
