Sky’s January sales have slashed prices across a range of bundles, but one new deal in particular is worth checking out. The provider has reduced its Essential TV and Full Fibre 150 package – which includes Sky Stream, Netflix, Discovery+ and 150Mbps fibre broadband – to £35 per month.

This bundle used to cost £40, so over the course of the 24-month contract you’ll save £120 – although Sky has said prices may change during this period. Sky’s Full Fibre 150 broadband currently costs £27 when taken on its own, but this bundle provides more than 100 TV channels, plus Netflix and Discovery+ for £8 more each month.

If this doesn’t appeal, it’s also worth checking out the new Sky Glass deals, which now start at £27 per month, or Virgin Media’s Winter sale, which has seen the Bigger Combo bundle – including 362Mbps broadband and 200 TV channels – reduced to £33 per month. There’s also free options like Amazon Prime’s 30-day free trial to enjoy a month’s worth of film and TV without paying a penny.

But if you opt for the Sky Stream service, you can gain access to Sky content without needing a satellite dish, making it ideal for those living in flats or who don’t want a dish. The compact Sky Stream puck connects to your home broadband, allowing you to stream a wide range of entertainment on Sky and streaming apps.

One of the bundle’s key features is Sky Atlantic, which offers shows must-see shows like Billions, The Penguin, The Day of the Jackal and The White Lotus, plus HBO and Showtime titles. The Essential TV package also includes Discovery+ and the Netflix Standard with Ads plan at no extra cost, but you can easily upgrade to the ad-free plan for an additional £6.

There’s also the option to add Sky Sports and Sky Cinema for £20 and £10 respectively, or TNT Sports for £28 for more Premier League and Champions League action. The bundle is powered by 150Mbps full-fibre broadband, providing ample bandwidth for streaming shows and meeting other internet demands in your home.

It’s worth mentioning that Sky Stream has evolved from Sky Q, focusing more on streaming content rather than recording everything as before, a change that customers seem to appreciate.

“Superb, as long as your internet isn’t the speed of a potato,” one customer shared on Trustpilot. “Moved from Sky Q and this is flawless. Love it.”

Another said: “Sky Stream is a game changer Switched a few weeks back and so far it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Installation takes care of itself, the remote even auto tunes itself to the TV. The best part is though the ability to have a single charge for all your streaming subscriptions. For example, I can subscribe to Disney+, Paramount+, etc. and they’ll be billed under a single bill from Sky.”

However, some users have raised concerns about its performance, with one saying: “I had Sky Stream installed about six months ago, good at first then came the issues. It cuts out constantly, the picture goes blank, the internet cuts out. Great box sets, films, documentaries, but poor device. I constantly reset.”

For the best Sky Stream experience, it’s worth noting you’ll need a strong WiFi signal with a minimum of 25Mbps – you can also use an Ethernet cable for a better connection. It’s also advisable to turn off overnight power saving and turn on networked standby mode, which may help improve any connectivity issues you’re experiencing, keeping the box connected when you return instead of going into sleep mode.
