Primark customers couldn’t believe their eyes when they spotted a pyjama set that looked ‘just like’ a noughties childhood legend. The cosy-looking items quickly caught the internet’s attention.
Fans of Shrek, who hasn’t graced cinema screens since 2010 after the release of his fourth film, were treated to an announcement that had kids from the 2000s buzzing. A fifth instalment is on its way.
The upcoming project, slated for release in 2026, comes just over 25 years after the first time the world met Shrek in 2001. It will see familiar voices like Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy return as Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey, respectively.
Eager to bring a dash of Far Far Away to their wardrobes, Primark has dropped a £27 Character Snuddie available in stores and online. You can pick up an outfit designed to look like either the iconic green ogre or his charming grey buddy, Donkey.
Being sold online as a “cosy yet whimsical” addition to loungewear collections, these oversized gowns come complete with “playful” hoods and each character’s distinctive ears. There are also some handy front pockets that are “roomy” and have made them a much-wanted item.
The delightful find didn’t go unnoticed by eagle-eyed shoppers and Shrek enthusiasts, whose hearts were pounding upon discovering the garments. This sparked many comments from people eager to get into character, reports the Mirror.
One shopper said: “These are awesome!” Another commented: “How cute are these!” Most of the comments section was flooded with friends tagging each other to plan two important things – when they’re going to Primark and who would be Donkey or Shrek. One asked their pal: “Please can we get matching! We’d look so stylish!”
Someone else wrote: “They look so warm and cosy!” A fifth exclaimed: “It’s the ears for me! I’m sold Primark!” The ranges are available in sizes from XS to L. Keep in mind, the Snuddie is designed to be oversized so that should be considered when picking up a set.
Primark’s website has an online stock checker, so you can check before you travel to your closest store. Some selected locations offer click and collect too, taking the stress out of shopping.
Primark is banging out those throwback feels with its character ranges for grown-ups. The high street favourite has just dropped a collection featuring Hello Kitty as well as various Disney lines too.
In other news from Primark, the shop’s latest home bits have been flying off the shelves, with a quirky nod to everyone’s favourite salad fruit. One piece grabbing the attention was a £5 tomato-scented candle, giving off vibes of an £85 version from the posh brand Loewe.
