ITV viewers are once again donning their detective hats as they attempt to deduce the identities of celebrities on The Masked Singer, hidden behind elaborate costumes.
The ITV spectacle has already revealed Macy Gray, Prue Leith, Kate Garraway and Mo Farah. Yet, with nine contenders still in the fray, speculation is rife online about who’s behind the masks.
For Dressed Crab, some are betting it might be Gregory Porter. Betway places the American singer-songwriter’s chances of being Crab at 4/6. Other speculated names include Tom Daley and Billy Porter, both pegged at 5/1 odds, reports the Mirror.
Betway’s spokesperson, Mike Reading commented: “The latest season of Masked Singer UK already promises to stir things up, after week one delivered the showstopping reveals of Dame Prue Leith, Kate Garraway, and even Sir Mo Farah as Giant Joel, in a twist to the show’s usual format.
“Already, fans and the panel alike have guessed famous names, from actor David Tennant as Wolf (5/1) to singers Macy Gray as Toad in the Hole (5/1) and Jamie-Lynn Spears as Pufferfish (5/1), and even celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay as Bear (8/1). With the stage set, all eyes will be on which celeb will be revealed in the dramatic unmasking.”
On Twitter, one user speculated: ” @MaskedSingerUK crab – sounds so much like Gregory Porter.”
Another commented: “I think the Dressed Crab is Gregory Porter!” Meanwhile, a different viewer shared: “Crab is definitely Gregory Porter.”
One fan pondered: “Gregory Porter for the Dressed Crab?” While another confidently stated: “Definitely got two of them. Carol Decker and Gregory Porter.”
Yet, fans will need to hold on a bit longer to find out if they’re right. Last weekend’s episode saw ITV audiences gobsmacked as Macy Gray abruptly left the stage before her reveal.
After the judges decided to save Bear in the sing-off, Macy made a swift exit while still in her costume.
While her departure appeared short-lived on the broadcast, reports suggest that showrunners spent close to an hour persuading the artist to return to the stage.
Upon being unmasked, Macy’s dissatisfaction with her exit was palpable as she responded to Joel Dommett’s questions with single-word answers.
Nevertheless, the true identities of Bear, Bush, Kingfisher, Pufferfish, Crab, Snail, Tattoo, Teeth, and Wolf continue to be shrouded in mystery.
The Masked Singer continues on Saturday on ITV and ITVX from 7pm.
